Bolivia 2004 (continued)
This is the field camp in Southern Bolivia where I was working for six weeks. The far line of orange tents are administration, operations etc, the middle line of green tents, accommodation. The mess (long white building) and the "OR's" accommodation (basic) are in the closer orange tents. We had electricity, internet (sometimes) and airconditioning! The helicopters are located to the right, just out of the picture.

This is the helicopter operating area. Two Squirrel B2 and one B3.

Most of the flying work involved longlining with a 100ft line. A lift from one of the refuel sites.

And here is the pilot perspective putting the cargo into a drop zone.

Generally we operated with one hook with 1 to 4 loads attached to it. Later in the operations we were using a multihook, so in one flight could deliver 9 small cargos. Demanding.

It was a great experience to have the opportunity to fly in Bolivia.
